You have taken the leap and are beginning your own business. One of the most important first steps you have to take when embarking on a new business is the creation of your logo. The logo must be effective enough to grab your customers and keep them remembering your business. The design of a great logo has four components that take it from fair to great.

1) The importance of the color scheme: The most important thing to remember when choosing color is if your logo has one of every color on the wheel, it does not make it more appealing. One of best rules of thumb when creating your logo, keep the color palette at two or three maximum colors. Fewer colors will make your logo appear more professional and easier to remember.

2) The logo should match your business: Because a logo is eye catching or you think it is cute, does not necessarily mean it will be a matching logo to the type of business you have. The logo should be a statement for your company.

3) Make it memorable: A great logo is one that customers remember and associated with your company. Try to make it fairly simple in style and design.

4) It has to be unique: A logo should have uniqueness to it – one that is not like any other in your businesses field.

Designing a logo with effectiveness will be a complex process, however, if your desire is have a business that is successful and remembered then it is imperative you do not rush the design process. Having an amazing workspace and all of the gadgets any new business would drool over, is not going to make the business. A company basically speaks for itself. The identity of your company will be reflected through your correspondence and outward appearance, all of which are reflected through your logo.

Every item associated with your business will have its own ‘branding’. This will be what associates a potential customer with your business. If you are unable to create a design on your own, a professional designer will be happy to listen to your business ideas and put them together to create a logo suitable to your business. A well thought out logo identifies everything from letter heads to business cards as those pertaining to your company. These items are what separates you from a competitor, as well as, the logo design will define how you want people to recognize your company.

The most important component of a corporation in identity of one is their specific logo and it deserves special attention. Hiring a creative and knowledgeable logo designer for creation of your logo is an important part of the process in order to perfect the impression you’re attempting to say. Once you have a grasp of the value in a well designed logo and have the right characteristics in place, you have made the first and one of the most important leaps to a successful business.
